Professor Salter contributed to the 'Open Innovation and Access to Knowledge' parallel panel session on the final afternoon.

This high profile symposium aims to provide a collaborative setting to analyse the world’s most important economic problems, create shared visions of the future and formulate innovative strategies to achieve these visions. The GES seeks to be a catalyst for future change and to generate strategic responses to the issues raised in the sessions.

Innovate '11
11 October, London Design Centre

We would like to thank the Technology Strategy Board for inviting the UK~IRC to particpate in the Innovate '11 Conference.

The UK~IRC exhibited at the conference in the Innovation Gallery, where there was a steady stream of visitors who came to hear about the centre's work.

The UK~IRC also hosted one of the breakout sessions in the afternoon, entitled 'Open Innovation: Is it a good thing for your organisation?'. The session proved a popular choice as the room was full to capacity and was received positively by those who were lucky enough to get into the session. The session was run on an interactive basis, which worked well as the audience engaged and participated with the topics.

The Centre is co-funded by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS), the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) and the Technology Strategy Board (TSB). This support is gratefully acknowledged.
